Improvement & Efficiency Awards 2013

The 4th iESE Annual Awards - Celebrating public sector innovation and transformation

Wednesday 6th March 2013, Church House, Westminster, London

For all of us in local government, together with our private and third sector partners, living with and excelling in spite of severe financial pressures has become a way of life.

To celebrate the achievements and truly groundbreaking transformation of local public services in such difficult times, iESE’s fourth annual Improvement and Efficiency Awards Ceremony took place on 6 March 2013 in London.

May I take this opportunity to thank our principal sponsors, Cable&Wireless Worldwide & Vodafone as well as our other commercial sponsors, Partnership, Scape, Bevan Brittan, Diligence Security Solutions and KS Agency.  Without them, we wouldn’t be able to showcase the great work that is taking place across the public sector and provide the platform to encourage others to duplicate their efforts.

We were also delighted to be joined by Baroness Joan Hanham CBE who gave a very positive speech, encouraging the audience to continue with their fantastic work and inspiring us all to go even further.

There is no doubt that councils will continue doing what they do best under financial pressure - breaking down the barriers to further transform, keep those much relied upon services running and getting value for money.

As a local authority owned social enterprise we know that to improve services and reduce costs, we all need to share our talent. iESE is the means by which we can share and transform our services together. Each owning local authority has nominating a Councillor as a Board Director of iESE who provides critical leadership to ensure our efforts are focused upon the critical issues for the sector.  And, because we are not-for-profit, any surplus made is reinvested back into the sector to further improve services.

This fourth Annual Awards Ceremony was a huge success and iESE is delighted to announce this year’s winners. We offer our congratulations to you all.

Cllr Paul Bettison, Leader, Bracknell Forest Council & Chairman, iESE
